June 29, 2003 New Moon
June 29, 2003 - July 28, 2003
Astronomical Myth is a "picture language," imagery that articulates the qualities of cosmic intelligence expressing throughout the greater heavens and into our lives. We are not separate from the greater heavens, from the stars and planets around us, or from our beloved Earth, but are intimate parts of this dynamic, continually unfolding heavenly symphony. This entirety is our cosmic consciousness, the totality of our being. To explore the greater heavens and the heavenly cycles is to explore that which we are--our embracing consciousness and our spiritual evolution.
The stars would not be in the heavens
if we were meant to walk in darkness.
Our last lunar cycle had us breaking free from the relentless diversions and tenacious obligations of life (in Hyades) that keep us from seeing and manifesting our greater visions (Aldebaran). This Lunar Cycle begins at the feet of the Gemini Twins. The Twins work hand-in-hand for the betterment of humankind. This lunar cycle "marks the time" of getting off the fence of indecision, of going forward upon the magic in our lives, it is a time of separating of the ways--from the old and into the new. It is a time of taking the steps to bring the pieces together for projects, and people together for new involvements--all to manifest our longer-term visions and purposes. It is a time of commencement. The actions taken now on the seemingly magical events appearing in our lives are preparatory, setting the stage for greater events yet to come.
In stellar myth: Gemini. the "Extraterrestrial Twins," is marked by the two principal stars: Pollux the immortal, extraterrestrial one, and Castor the mortal, the terrestrial one, the extraterrestrial incarnate. These two stars mark the last few degrees of sidereal Gemini. The Twins stand upon the galactic equator at a 60° angle to the ecliptic plane, with the "Feet of the Twins" lying in earlier Gemini, upon the "galactic node" of the Holy Cross. Thus, Gemini is a galactic constellation, one common to our solar plane (ecliptic), and so with sole / soul purpose expressing in the daily activity of humankind. (Our feet are associated with our longer term / sole / soul purpose.)
The role of the Twins is one of linking and uniting the mission of the soul (galactic plane) into and through our incarnate daily affairs and mode of participating in the world. The Twins work hand-in-hand for the betterment and evolutionary fulfillment of humankind. And of course, Gemini is of communication and activity.
The theme of the Twins was expressed by Romulus and Remus, founders and guardians of Rome; the immortal and mortal sons of Zeus in Greek mythology; and who along with Hercules were of the crew of the Argo.
The foot of Castor marks the anti-galactic equatorial node (anti-GEN), at 5°sidereal Gemini, of the fixed axis of the Holy Cross, which defines this point in sidereal Gemini as the "Gate of Man." Its opposite point at ~5° Sagittarius is the "Gate of God,"--the prime fiducial of the Holy Cross.
Friend and colleague KHM9 Andrés Takra on sidereal Gemini, quoting: The Solunar's Handbook by Cyril Fagan, states: " 'The Ruler of Gemini is Mercury, the winged messenger of the gods, and his statues represent him as a naked boy wearing the winged traveler's hat and winged sandals.... He was the god of roads, traveling and travelers, and their protector. Being the god of shrewdness and sagacity, he was the author of numerous inventions such as the alphabet, speech, eloquence, numbers, mathematics, astronomy, astrology, weights, measures, schooling, education, music, and lyre and syrinx. Being the least religious of the gods and void of moral principles, he was also the god of thieves, fraud, perjury, cunning, exchange, barter, and of commerce in general.... Gemini was par excellence the constellation of gaiety and the delight of boyhood and youth. It produces those who enchant everybody with their conversational ability, wit, music and song, and their ability in mathematics, astronomy and astrology.' " Takra continues: "Geminians are always busy, always moving, doing a million things at the same time! Ubiquity is a Geminian trait. They are the intellectuals of the Zodiac and the creators in the arts and sciences (whereas Sagittarians, opposite them, are the patrons of the arts). Geminians are young at heart, nervous and polyvalent (whereas Sagittarians are mature, imposing, sanguine and intuitive). The House (of Gemini / 9th) is the realm of education, schools, universities, higher thoughts, ideas, writings, publications, communications, publicity, teachers, teachings, guides, travels, moves, long and short journeys, and cool windy areas. ...where insight and perception are codified into a coherent and communicable form for the masses."
Our New Moon lies between the foot of Castor, marked by the star Tejat, and foot of Pollux, marked by the star Alhena.
Tejat, the foot of Castor, is composed of Eta Gemini, IC 444, a bright refection nebula, and Dirah (Tejat Posterior) Mu Gemini. Tejat & IC 444 portend eminence and renown, and will make that which they align with stand out in a unique fashion. Tejat will bring out to be seen that which has been suppressed, oppressed, hidden, in the closet, but destined to be.
Alignments with the foot of Castor can indicate hiding in the closet or in one's own mental obscurations and illusions. Tejat indicates that it is time to come out of hiding, to become visible, to stand forth in the limelight to be seen, and to make self available or approachable. Tejat indicates it is time to claim one's role in the physical world, and to take the steps required for physical unfoldment and participation in the physical world. It is time to do what is required. Tejat can also indicate those who are physically marked in some way: including birth marks, genetic marks, or other unique features including tattoos and especially jewels.
Tejat will bring forth that which has been suppressed to be seen and in doing so may draw experiences that are reflections of parts of our selves that seem rather dark and opposing to our unfoldment. Forces of the mortal world may indeed be out for our demise, but they are our worthy opponents, for they reflect the fears, hesitancies, and blockages within our selves to step through into our paths of fulfillment in the world. Tejat asks that us be willing to walk through the shadows of self to claim our power and place in the physical world.
Alhena, the left foot of Pollux, lies in the midst of sidereal Gemini. Alhena is the brand, or mark. Alhena represents "commencement" and inspires us to act on our greater soul truth and purpose. Alhena is a marking stone for the unfoldment of what is ahead. It can indicate a separating of the ways is at hand. Alhena indicates a milestone or a turning point has been reached and indicates the need to get off of the fence of indecision, to drop any hesitation, as the "time is at hand" to go forth anew. As the brand, Alhena also indicate that the time, events, or relations are marked or destined. Alhena may indicate the need to sign a document or legalize a project, involvement, or commitment. It is the consecration of our commitment that anchors the etheric vision of our soul truth into the physical plane to become realized truth. This concretization prepares for a greater event yet to come.
Esoterically, Alhena can involve creating a mark, a specific geometric seal, which allows the starseed link of communication for the arrival and departure of extraterrestrial craft--or for the fulfillment of one's incarnate mission. Alhena is the dividing star of the sign of Gemini and indicates a separation, a leaving, a departure, and a commencement, even an exodus or liftoff. Behaviorally, it is leaving an older or lesser ways of participation, one more associated with mortal, terrestrial, and often fractious and obstreperous, even boisterous ways associated with Castor (embodied by conjoining Mebsuta), to the spiritual maturity of Pollux the ambassador. Alhena requires this transfiguration to embody our true galactic light coding (galactic re-instatement) or to board a high-spectra light vehicle, interstellar craft--the vessel of light within!
Additional entries adding to this month's theme are Beta Monoceros (of the Unicorn), the Rosetta Nebula, and Quasar OH471 of Auriga, the Charioteer.
Beta Monoceros brings the unique, unexpected, and magical, out from obscurity. Quasar OH471 brings the image of the soul's mission purpose into view in a unique or magical way as stimulus to mobilize its fragmented pieces into unified fulfillment.
Quasars are believed to be the signature of distant galactic clusters. Because these multi-spectral emanations are from entirely alien realities outside of our sphere of consciousness, they express or manifest experiences that often time do not seem to fit into our current experience. These dimensional bleed-throughs serve to open us to non-conforming possibilities and opportunities otherwise not available if we are willing to explore their foreignness.
Our July 6 First Quarter Moon's "stimulus to action" conjoins another quasar (3C279 producing 7 yr. flares) that lies on the back-bone of the Virgin. It conjoins Corvus the messenger Raven. 3C279 communicates as messages through nature. Here, nature's images are the guidance itself--revealing the action to take as we move from the inspiration quarter of the lunar cycle into the creative action quarter of the lunar cycle.
An Angelic Full Moon
Our festive Full Moon eve occurs July 12 (MST) with the Full Moon occurring on July 13 in late Sagittarius and under the highly inspirational auspices of Lyra, harp of the angels. The stars of Lyra embody various facets of the artsciences of harmonics in light, sound, color, and geometry--particularly the wisdom of the artsciences. They are of vision, creativity, and inspire all that is of multi-media, the arts, and higher education. The principal star alignment here is Sulaphat of Lyra.
Sulaphat, one of Lyra's stars, is the tortoise shell upon which the strings of the harp stretch. Sulaphat embodies all that is of physical resonance and emotional tone. Here we find the inspiration to re-tune the physical and emotional aspects of our lives. We find support to become fully and harmoniously resonant to our spiritual truth so we may access the abundance and love truly destined for us. Sulaphat brings impetus to access our highest ideals and to bring them into material manifestation. Conjoining is Alpha Pavo (of the Peacock), which is of integration, illumination, and immortality. Alpha Pavo adds impetus to express the exquisite beauty that we are, and that we truly seek in the physical world.
Our Full Moon conjoins retrograde Chiron, which aligns with Vega of Lyra, the Harp Star, bringing enthusiasm to build and cross new bridges in our lives that lead to our evolutionary fulfillment.
Chiron Psychophysiology
Chiron, characteristic of both a comet and an asteroid, is generally called a "planetoid," although in early 1995 it was reclassified to a comet status due to a March '94 observation of two discrete ice-jets emanating from its surface. Classically, Chiron is "the wounded healer." Chiron is the bridge from the old to the new and is associated with all forms of healing work and with new discoveries in the health field and medicinal arts. Chiron works at the cellular and DNA level and is very much involved in the establishment of new neurological circuitry. Chiron is believed to not be native to our solar system but is a welcomed and needed visitor. In the astrological chart, Chiron indicates where personal healing is required, it may indicate where a bridge is to be created and crossed. If prominently placed, Chiron may indicate involvement in the health-care field, or involvement with discoveries, inventions, and new technologies or modalities applied in this arena.
Our Last Quarter Moon bringing "inner need to initiate change" occurs on July 20/21 in early sidereal Aries. Conjoining is the Andromeda Galaxy (M31).
The Andromeda Galaxy embodies the ideal of human expression in radiant and exquisite form. The Andromeda Galaxy is exemplar for the human evolved into a unified and illuminated being in full majesty and glory. M31 was first viewed simply as a nebulosity in the heavens, but with the advent of evolved telescopes, the galactic beauty became visible as our nearest galactic neighbor, and as well marked the time for humanity to realize we can become much more than what we originally perceive. Here lies the potential to become our true galactic selves in fully illumined and visible expression of our highest potential. M31 holds the ideal for the evolution of our galaxy and for life in it. Its qualities are beauty and perfection. The Andromeda Galaxy inspires us to be all that we can be, to see opportunity for attainment rather than limitations blocking our intended destiny. M31 asks to live from our full potential as exemplars of human perfection, and to cultivate and use our advanced human faculties in all facets of our lives.
Conjoining the asteroid Pallas, our inner need to change asks us to co-participate from beyond the judgements of this side verses that, to express our creative intelligence from the wisdom gained by having been on both sides of the fence at one time or another. To learn more of the asteroids see "The Asteroids."
As always the experiential wisdom gained in this cycle prepares us for the next. The closing of this cycle and the beginning of the next occurs on our next New Moon on July 28 just a Mars begins its retrograde period creating a very significant lunar cycle. More to come then
